So my film came out mostly okay. The whole process wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be although it was still fairly nerve-wracking with all the time sensitive stuff. Really makes me appreciate digital so much more. I did like the part when the print goes into the developer and you get to watch the image slowly appear. Very cool.

My film developed well and almost all the pictures came out except one that looked funky. I got some water streaks on the negatives but they didn’t show up very much at all on the actual prints. I consider it a success. Hopefully the future assignments go just as well (with less water streakage, hopefully).

I’m taking a photography class where we’re using all black and white film, no digital. Eek! It’s scary. I’m getting used to shooting with the camera using all manual settings (instead of my usual point and shoot technique) and it’s actually pretty fun but I’m developing my first roll of film tomorrow and I’m nervous about it. I’ve already got it in the tank, which was a bit of an ordeal in and of itself. Standing in a completely dark room fumbling around and trying to get my film on the spool was not fun. Tomorrow I get to put the actual chemicals in the tank. I think I’m making a bigger deal of this than it really is, but I just don’t want to screw up and have to redo the whole thing from the beginning. That would not be fun, although it would possibly not be the end of the world. Possibly.
